Terms of Service
Header is made by Morrowfield Labs, Inc. ("we", "us"). These terms cover the Header app for Mac during the beta and this website. By installing or using the Header beta, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't install or use it.
A beta, not finished software
Header is pre-release software, provided so you can try it and tell us what works. Features may change, break, or be removed, and we may pause or end the beta at any time.
Your license
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Header beta on Macs you control during the beta. You don't get ownership of the software.
Your notes stay yours
Header works on folders of Markdown files that you choose. Your notes and files remain yours, and these terms give us no rights to them. If you delete Header, your files stay where they are.
Keep backups. Header is beta software that reads and writes your files, so keep your own backup of any folder you open with it.
AI features
- Cloud AI stays off until you add a provider. If you use a cloud provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Mistral, Header sends the text needed for the action you chose directly to that provider, and that provider's terms and privacy policy apply. By default Header shows you that text first.
- You are responsible for your use of your provider and for any charges it makes. We don't bill for, and aren't responsible for, third-party AI charges.
- AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before you rely on it.
Recording meetings
Header can record calls and in-person meetings. You are responsible for telling the people you record and for getting their consent where the law requires it.
What you may not do
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code, except where the law allows it.
- Copy, resell, or redistribute the Header app. Sharing the public beta link is fine.
- Use Header to break the law or to violate someone else's rights or another service's terms.
Getting Header through TestFlight
The beta is distributed through Apple's TestFlight, and Apple's TestFlight terms also apply to how you get and use beta builds. These terms are between you and Morrowfield Labs, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Header or for supporting it.
Price
Header is free during the beta. Nothing in the beta commits you to pay for Header later. We'll share pricing for the full version before it launches.
Feedback
If you send us feedback, bug reports, or ideas, you allow us to use them to improve Header, without any obligation to you. The Privacy Policy explains what we receive and how we use it.
No warranty
The beta is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will never lose or damage data. You use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, files, notes, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the beta. Our total liability for any claim about the beta is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid us for it, which during the beta is US$0.
Ending the beta
Your license lasts for the beta. It ends when the beta ends, when you stop using Header, or if we end your access because of misuse or a breach of these terms. The sections on your notes, feedback, no warranty, and limitation of liability continue after that. Your files are always yours to keep.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll tell beta testers through TestFlight or by email.
